Why?
I was pulling out every damn hair obsessively, staring at it, admiring the texture, analyzing the split ends. Once I got started, usually towards the late afternoon, I couldn't stop. I had to shave it. I couldn't bear the added stress of such an annoying fetish.

Of course, you put your thumb on the scale by using the old trick of having a dour expression in the BEFORE shot, and, smiling in the AFTER shot.
And, the lighting in the second shot makes your skin look more tanned.
But, nevertheless, I'd rather have the second dude as my wing man, when we're cruisin' for chicks, back in 1963.
