a room with a view

or is it "a view to a kill"
?

here's what's out my front window this afternoon. the odd thing is that it doesn't strike me as odd at all, until i stop to think about it.

on the other side of the life/death coin, here's Michah Adam Levin, hours before he joined Nechama Shayna Langer in most Holy Matrimony (Kiddushin).

And this, of course, is Pesach Ben Tzion-- known to many as child star Zac Bennett, whose appearance on Miami Vice as "the kid" wowed American television audiences coast-to-coast. Have a great Shabbes and a pleasant weekend

You beg for comments, Shimshon, you got 'em.

1) the picture: Classic tactic borrowed from the yellowed book of yellow journalism: don't inform your readers that your window looks out on a road used constantly by vehicles of all sorts.

2) Heavy dark green vehicle = "view to a kill"? What about "regular army patrols reduce chances of a terrorist incursion into our sleepy community?

3) "the odd thing is that it doesn't strike me as odd at all, until i stop to think about it". What's so odd about becoming accustomed to features of your everyday life, no matter where you are in the world? I could (and would) say precisely the same thing about the orgy of flesh that is beach life in So Cal (where I grew up)and elsewhere. This faculty of accomodation is what makes human life possible (as well as problematic) in a swirling variety of circumstances. Far from being odd, it is, rather, business as usual.

Rather, I suspect that this rumination of yours is the product of something else, that is, your tendency to retreat to expressing a paralyzing, 'I-must-be-stuck-between-worlds, otherwise-I-don't-feel-me', the unguency of which balms your tormented identity even as it deprives the rest of us of the power of the roar of a Shimshon who would once and for all let his Jewish hair grow out.

I've been slapped with a few "be real" comments lately. Needs investigation, perhaps (Tzarich Iyyun).

The army truck was a 30-second reflection that I thought would be interesting to them 'Murikans over thar who have no idea what my world looks like. That's all.

But I enjoy the "orgy of flesh" imagery, thanks Rav!!
