once i again i respectfully challenge the older generation: what if it turns out that the best thing for me, for the world, for the Jewish Conspiracy is that I stay here for a year, 10 years, 100 years?

what if, by living here, i tap into the deep joy and connectedness for which i have been searching my whole life??

then it's not good?

not a threat, nor a promise-- just a clarification.

sometimes we are able to make the greatest difference by taking what we've learned on our journies elsewhere, and bringing is back to places where there is a gap in that learning, sometimes that's where we came from.

i really didn't think i'd be in a place where i had to tell my students why it was wrong to draw swasticas on their notebook and say the sign was "cool", or where i had to constantly tell students that it was inappropriate to say things were "queer" and "gay", or that interracial dating was okay, even though their father's are in the KKK.

all those being extreme subjects, i spent 4 years in a place where no one would even dream of saying that stuff, and now i'm back trying to share what to me was normal.

so, israel might be the best place to gain the knowledge, and become strong in it, but who knows where will be the best place to preach the gospel you've learned. many communities are in a spiritual drought for your type of judaism. anyway, i'm off to bake cookies to take to thanksgiving, but thought i'd join in the fun.

Stugi, Have a Kosher Turkey (perhaps the 19 year old breast) and remember the Thanksgiving and keep it Holy. Have fun with your mom on her trip.

three items:

1) chuck-- go easy on the PG-13 stuff. wanderingstu.com is a family place

2) ChazMav-- thanks for stepping up to speak straight to the family with love and affirmation. Who ever said you were a "manaical, self-centered freakshow of a man"????? How's the baby?

3) It's irony of ironies that, after months of crying about not enough comments, the shortest post ever gets the most comments!!

Life.
